HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:

LOUISE was built in 1973 for K B Pickles of Ossett, Yorkshire to a design by J Francis Jones by Dagless Ltd. of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, hull number 69. Launched as FRANGY POP she was kept on a Hamble mooring by her first owner. In 1976 she was sold to J H J Pitt of Greenacres, Caswell Bay, Swansea and re-named OPPORTUNIST. J H J Pitt kept her on a Thames mooring in London, no doubt as a Pied-a-terre. In 1978 Mervyn & Violet Mitton of The Albany, Bournemouth became joint new owners and moved OPPORTUNIST out to Antibes. New commercial owners from Century House, Salisbury continued to station the vessel in Antibes through the 1980's. The current owners have upgraded the exterior of the boat which has been re-named LOUISE.

Carvel Iroko planked hull, copper fastened to oak timbers and frames. Teak laid decks, aluminium and marine-ply supertstructure.

Recent work includes hull antifouling, new zinc anodes and review for HRB, statutory ships in service regulations.

Traditional, well planned interior for eight guests plus crew.

Pair 350hp VOLVO PENTA TAMD 71A Six Cylinder Diesel Engines fitted new in 1993. Serviced 2017. 12 knots cruising speed. 5,000 litres fuel capacity in two tanks. 6 batteries, new in 2015. 240 volt shore-power. Bilge fans.
